Wheaton-Glenmont Raccoon Trap

When raccoons invade homes or businesses in the Wheaton-Glenmont, Maryland area, there is a big debate about what to do. Some people say that we invaded the animal's territory and we should just live-and-let-live. That sounds very considerate, except that I don't want to live with rabies and roundworm and other things that come along with the raccoons.

Other people say to use a raccoon trap and relocate the animals. That also sounds good, except Maryland law forbids relocation of wild nuisance animals. Why? Because urban and suburban wildlife have a high rate of disease, generally higher than their rural counterparts. If an urban animal is relocated it must fight to establish territory. It isn't equipped to deal with rural living. It will spread disease to innocent country cousins.

When you really want to get rid of raccoons, you need to enlist a Wildlife Control Operator to set raccoon traps and deal with the nuisance animal(s) humanely. Our traps are large, wire enclosures that are baited with treats. The traps are checked regularly to make sure the animal isn't left to suffer for want of food or water. If the animal is a nursing mother, the babies will be captured with her and humanely treated, not left to die a painful death by starvation.

While a raccoon trap may sound harsh, consider the alternative. Live with the animals and what do you get, apart from the disease mentioned above? After a few months of a do-it-yourself approach, a Wheaton-Glenmont homeowner finally called a professional. After the taking the animals away in a raccoon trap, the real work started. The invasion caused more than $20,000 in damage: insulation, wiring, paint, drywall, carpet. This doesn't include hotel costs while the homeowners had to move out during clean up and repair. This doesn't include the mental stress. The clean-up crew filled two large garbage cans just with raccoon poop! Two cans! Can you imagine letting something use your house as a toilet?

Properly used, a raccoon trap is the best alternative when you have unwanted animals. When you hire a Wildlife Control Operator, you get not only the raccoon trap, but also our experience and professional knowledge. We know how to get rid of raccoons and keep them from coming back. The raccoon trap is only the beginning.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Wheaton-Glenmont and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

Wheaton-Glenmont Smells a Rat

There are rat problems in Wheaton-Glenmont, Maryland

We live on the top floor of a two unit building in We live on the top floor of a two unit building in Wheaton-Glenmont. There is a strong odor in one of our rooms that is spreading through out the unit. We believe it is from a dead rat in one of the walls. There may be other rats that need to be trapped. But our main concern is the removal of the dead rat and the smell. Flynn L.

We seem to have rats nesting in the space beneath the house extension, and they have chewed through the floor so they can enter the house. I know there are at least two of them and they are not fully grown yet as I saw them last night. I don't want to poison them because we have dogs that can get to that area. I am also not particularly fond of the idea of using snap traps for much of the same reason. Crystal J.

We have a rat that died and is down inside the wall somewhere because we can smell the odor in our closet. We put out some poison, but instead of it making its way out of the house, it must have died in the rafters. What's the best solution for getting it out? Phil D.
