Wayne County, Michigan is Full of Pigeons
Pigeons are thought to be a New York City kind of a thing, but here in Wayne County we see them more often than not.  Whether it be on billboards, apartments, baseball stadiums, or buildings, we see them all the time.  They’re common enough that you’ll often find bird spikes on roofs, windowsills, and railings.  In cases when the sneaky birds get around these preventative measures they cause havoc, and the people in Wayne County want them gone!

I don\'t know how many gophers are living in my yard, but they have dug holes all over the place. I am pretty sure they are going back and forth between my yard and my neighbor’s. I tried to fill their holes with water - I left the hose on and running down one of their holes for FOUR HOURS, and it didn\'t fill it! I don’t know the extent of their tunnels, but it’s obviously too big of a problem for me to deal with on my own.

It’s not uncommon to have gopher problems, especially if your home backs up to any kind of open landscape like fields, parks, hillsides, etc.  The problem is when you don’t take care of it as soon as you identify what is happening.  Gopher problems that are left unattended can cause such a vast map of underground tunneling that a person’s foot could break through the ground and expose the damage and possible injure themselves.  Not to mention that gophers are a rodent, and once they’ve found a good place to settle they won’t leave on their own.  Watch carefully for the gopher’s signature mounding in your yard, and once you’ve identified it, get someone to take care of it as soon as you can.

We resolve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Wayne County and surrounding areas. Give me a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

The situations we resolve and main trapping and removal services we provide are: raccoon families in attics and chimneys, woodpeckers drilling siding. mud swallow nests on stucco, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, voles and gophers destroying lawns, skunks stealing pet food, bat infestations, and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their commotion and smell. Raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that I and my professional wildlife removal operators are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Wayne County Wild Animal Control News, Stories, Events and Alerts

It Seems That Everyone Smells Skunk in Wayne County, Michigan Skunks regularly enter neighborhoods in Wayne County, Michigan. ¨I have a skunk problem. There was an opening to the crawl space of my house. This skunk came along and somehow pulled boards away from the side to make the hole bigger. I guess she liked what she saw, because now she and her 2 babies are living in the crawl space. It stinks.

I think I have a skunk or two living under my deck. Last weekend around 8:45 pm I saw there was one in my backyard heading toward my deck. I quickly went back inside and didnt see where it went. A week later my neighbor also saw one in his yard and said he saw it go under my fence into my yard. I noticed a hole dug on the side of my deck and there is a lingering smell. David S.

Much to my surprise, I ran into a live skunk in my side yard. We both went opposite directions, and no harm was done. Now, this past weekend, I found and extricated a dead (and partially decomposed) skunk from under my deck. It was a disgusting job. The area is very difficult to get to, since the deck is low and was not designed to be disassembled. The smell hasnt really made it inside, but outside is pretty bad, and not getting better since the animal was removed. Maybe there is another skunk, but I have not see evidence of one. Now I need your advice: What do I do with the dead skunk? Put it in the garbage? (Its currently tripled-bagged in the side yard.) Is there anything that I can do to get rid of the smell under and around the deck? In addition to being low to the ground, there are a lot of leaves and junk under there which seem hold the odor. Toni W.

I have skunks living under my house.  It’s a nightmare.  My house smells, my property smells, even I’m starting to smell.  I’ve tried to make loud noise and scare them off but they spray.  I need someone to get them off of my property.  I can’t keep smelling like skunk forever.
-Maddie G

There’s a hole dug outside the wall of my barn.  It doesn’t go deep but it goes back.  I think I have a family of skunks nesting down there.  The hole smells like skunk and I’ve seen skunks in the yard before.  In need of someone who can get everything out and moved somewhere else.
