Birds in Farmington, Utah

Utah has many types of beautiful birds, including the Bald Eagle, which attract avid bird watchers to its mountains and valleys.  However, there are some locals in Farmington, Utah that have had some very up close and personal encounters with Utah’s birds and just wish they would leave them alone!

Birds can invade chimneys, dryer vents, eaves, and many other places on homes and properties.  They can cause a lot of expensive damage and can become quite a nuisance.  The stories below are from actual customers who were having difficulties with birds in their homes.

A couple years ago a woodpecker decided our house would make a nice meal, and has been here on and off since. It has decided it really likes the upper west-facing side of the house. Our house is cedar and it has managed to dig through the siding in several areas and from there into the insulation. The problem is as soon as I get the holes filled (I\'ve been using expandable foam) it digs a new hole. There is a new hole to the left of newly filled holes (I did them last week) that appeared the next day. I\'ve tried sparkly ribbon deterrents but the bird just moved over a few feet. I added more and it went around to the other side of the house where I now have holes too high to fill myself. I\'m going to have to replace the siding on both sides of the house because the holes are causing heating/cooling problems, since the bird keeps ripping the insulation out. The west side is especially bad since the wall faces the winter wind, and our bedroom is directly on the other side. Not only is our room freezing cold in the winter but the bird wakes us up. I\'m sure the bird will start right back up again once I repair the siding and insulation. The holes are so high I feel unsafe each time I climb the ladder to address them. We love birds and I don\'t want to see it harmed but I feel at some point my rights as a property owner should be considered. Do you have any advice pertaining to my situation? I\'m sure the damage is probably causing hundreds of dollars of energy wastage a year and replacing the siding will likely cost over $10K. We haven\'t talked directly to any professional yet. I\'d like to move toward trapping/removal unless there is a sure-fire way to deter it without destroying the bird or my home.  Thank you.

I have a bird problem in my chimney. I have looked down the flue and can barely see a thing so I assume they are nested in inside the chimney wall. You can see them flying around the house most days. The chimney is already damaged at the top so I already expect to have it fixed but I don’t want to do it before the birds are removed. I think they have been there on and off for maybe 2 or 3 years. If you can help with this it would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I have problems with barn swallows, or at least some type of swallows, that have built a nest up underneath my deck. It’s causing a lot of problems with bugs, feathers and poop everywhere. There are also babies inside of the nest so I can’t knock it down. I need to find out what I can do or if you can help me remove it. We would also need to take preventative measures to make sure they don\'t keep coming back year after year.

Bird problems are common and can cause a lot of damage to homes, and even decrease the property value of the home up to 10%.

We don’t want you to experience this problem.  Feel free to call the number at the top of this page and we will do what we can to help you with your bird problems.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Farmington and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Wildlife Problems in Farmington, Utah

With all of the wildlife in Farmington, Utah, it’s no surprise that the local residents have so many run ins with them!  These are just a few of the many stories that we have received about wildlife problems.

I\'ve had a minor vole problem for the last couple of years. This year seems much worse, I assume because of the long winter. Trails are visible in the lawn, which lead to small holes or tunnels. The ground above the tunnels is soft and collapses when stepped on. I\'ve tried repelling them, poisoning them, trapping them, but nothing seems to work. There are holes burrowed under the foundation of my detached garage, and I occasionally see live and even dead voles around the property. The problem seems mainly contained to my back yard, which is relatively small, but the occasional hole and trail can be seen in my front lawn as well.  I need this problem resolved asap.

I have what I believe is a raccoon digging up the plants in my gardens EVERY night for the past 3 weeks. I think it\'s a raccoon because I saw one walking through my yard during the afternoon last week. I live in a rural subdivision so it’s odd to see a raccoon at all but it\'s very unusual to see one during the day in any situation. I am not only concerned about my garden but mine and my neighbor’s health. I would like someone to come trap and relocate this animal as soon as possible.

For over a year, there have been squirrels that have made a 5 inch hole on top of our garbage can and nesting inside. We have replaced it three times but they always come back. They are aggressive when we take out the garbage or even come near it!  Over the last few weeks, we have become aware of a lot of movement above our master bedroom in the ceiling. We can\'t access space to observe, but I’m almost positive that the squirrels have gotten inside. Please help!!!
