Big Brown Bats love Prince William County, Virginia Buildings
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries knows that the big brown bat (Eptesicus fuscus fuscus) is found throughout Virginia. In Prince William County, as in other parts of the state, this bat most commonly chooses to live in man-made structures, making it one of the most common species targeted in bat removal plans.
The big brown bat is non-migratory and likes to form nursery colonies as well as winter residences in barns, houses and churches. In particular, when they are in structures they will move throughout the structure in hot weather seeking more suitable quarters. Therefore they are one of the most common species we encounter during bat removals because they have come down the chimney or through bath vents.
While they look scary, these creatures eat insects and do not want to suck the blood of the unlucky homeowner. There is, however, danger of rabies or other diseases and it is important to make bat removal plans when they are found in or around a building used by people or animals.
Using our experience and expertise, it is relatively simple to remove bats from closed structures such as attics. We have the knowledge to find all the little cracks that serve as access, and we will make sure the nursery colonies are safely vented without abandoning the young to starvation. Humane treatment of these remarkable animals is a top priority during bat removal.
Open buildings such as barns or church belfries are more complicated, but we have had great success in these types of situations. Big brown bats generally form small colonies and an appropriate bat removal plan will get the animals out and provide sufficient deterrents to prevent their return.
If you have bat problems, let us help. Our experience and our happy customers will confirm that professional bat removal is the way to solve your problems in Prince William County.

Rats cause problems in Prince William County, Virginia
Prince William County, Virginia wants to get rid of rats.
I have a rat infestation. I live in the country and we have a barn/shop not far from the house. Even though we keep lids on feed containers, I know it attracts the rats to our place. There aren\'t other homes around, so they don\'t leave. We baited them, and several have died. The smell of the urine and dead body combination is disgusting. My problem area where the house is concerned is under two of my bathtubs. I\'m embarrassed to have company for fear of them thinking I don\'t keep my bathroom clean. Lisa B.
Our pest control company put out rat poison at my request. I heard a rat moving around in my bedroom wall 2 days ago and now the smell is overwhelming. I assume it is dead inside there. Christy R.
There is a dead rat, a BAD one, can\'t tell if in wall or hidden in insulation on attic floor. It gets tight near the end of the house where it\'s at. I\'ve done my best at raking through the insulation and trying to pinpoint it and I just can\'t do it. John C.
