Leesburg, Virginia Raccoon Removal

When raccoons show up in homes and businesses in Leesburg, Virginia, people know to call for professional help to make sure their raccoon removal is handled the right way.

Raccoon removal is usually called for when one of a few things happen. In the spring females seek out attics and chimneys looking for a safe place to raise a litter of young. This type of removal has special considerations of ensuring that no animals are left behind to suffer. It is relatively easy to trap an adult, but requires great care and attention to successfully remove the babies, too.

In the fall adults will sometimes enter homes and businesses looking for winter dens. This is perhaps less common than the spring invasions, but equally disturbing. The animals are not considerate tenants of the buildings they occupy. They destroy insulation, siding, vents, wiring and anything else they can reach with their strong and clever hands.

Apart from the damage the animal cause, there are important health reasons for raccoon removal.

Raccoons are the number one carrier of rabies in the Leesburg, Virginia area. While the number of cases remains relatively low, one cannot be too careful when it comes to this fatal disease.

Raccoons carry roundworms and bring with them a variety of parasites like ticks and fleas. These "bugs" will spread throughout any structure that the raccoons occupy and they find people make very good hosts. The longer the animals are there, the more damage they cause and the greater the health risk. The sooner you remove raccoons from your building, the better off you and the building will be. Quick, professional raccoon removal will give you the guaranteed results you deserve.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Leesburg and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. Woodpeckers don't care what homes taste like in Leesburg, Virginia

As a chef, I work with food everyday. I understand that tastes vary, but I still couldn't understand why my stucco home in Leesburg, Virginia would taste good to a woodpecker. That was because I assumed that the bird was going after my house because it tasted good. Woodpecker control experts were able to show me what was really going on and get rid of the woodpeckers, too.

This spring the birds, which are known to hang out in this area, suddenly decided to start drilling and drumming away on my house. The noise woke us quite early in the morning every day. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Why my house? My first thought was "oh, no, we have termites and the birds are after them." But, no. After an exterminator came and took a look, that wasn't the problem. I asked him what he could do about the birds and he said that bug guys don't do woodpecker control. I would need to get a specialist.

I kept looking for other alternatives. Maybe the birds liked the taste of stucco? It turns out that most scientists believe birds have little sense of taste and it wouldn't matter if I soaked the whole house in chili sauce, the birds probably wouldn't care. Taste is not an effective way to control woodpeckers, either.

It turns out that woodpeckers hammer away on a house to mark territory, attract a mate or make a nest. The bird wasn't picking on me personally, or even picking on my house in particular, it was just responding to the call of nature: make some noise!

This didn't mean that I was going to let the birds destroy my stucco. There were several holes in the stucco already and I wanted to get rid of the woodpeckers before there were more. I was lucky. I got professional woodpecker control on the job before the nest was established. They showed me how to make my home less attractive to the birds and they did their part with a variety of repellents that really worked, not like my hot pepper proposal.

Woodpecker control, when properly done by a professional, is always in good taste. I was so pleased with the results, I invited the guys over to the restaurant for dinner. I hope they enjoyed it.
