That Independent Pioneer Spirit

While it is no longer the Wild West, Utah is still full of people with a pioneer attitude. People from Provo to Logan believe that one should take care of one's own and solve one's own problems. That's why it took years before Steve called me. This independent man was busy raising his family in Layton, and had also been busy attempting amateur raccoon trapping to solve the problems in his attic.

Steve knew he had raccoons in his attic. He could hear them banging and screaming. He occasionally saw one in his yard and found ample evidence as he cleaned up the trash yet again and scooped poop that definitely didn't come from his dog. He purchased a live trap for raccoon trapping and regularly caught animals. But, the problems persisted. It didn't seem to matter how many animals he trapped outside, there were still animals inside the attic.

Steve's problem is a very common one. People don't want to pay someone to do a job that they believe they can do themselves. It is important to remember, though, that you hire professionals to do many types of jobs: medical and legal work, for example. Raccoon trapping is also a service best performed by a professional. Especially because that might keep you from needing more of those other types of services I just mentioned.

But, back to Steve. Steve didn't want to pay for help, but he finally conceded that, despite his best efforts, there were still raccoons in his attic and it was time to get rid of them, once and for all.

I told Steve that we have never failed at raccoon trapping because we have the equipment and experience necessary to get the job done right. We know how to test a structure and be sure the job is truly finished and all animals are out. We can recommend structural repairs and maintenance and provide special materials to protect your home. We can clean up the mess and return your home to health and safety. Steve realized that there was a lot more to raccoon trapping than just getting an animal in a trap, just like there is a lot more to dentistry than just yanking out a tooth.

Even for the independent and pioneering it is worth it to get help for the parts of your life where health and safety are at stake. Protect your family. Hire a professional for raccoon trapping or any other form of pest animal control and removal. Steve did. His home is now animal free.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Layton and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

Raccoon Ransacks Residence in Layton, Utah

I work for a local insurance company and you wouldn't believe the case that we just had! An elderly woman passed away and as her children set about funeral arrangements, property division, etc., a raccoon decided to claim the empty home for herself and her babies. She got in through the chimney flu and made her den. With winter soon approaching the eldest son came and blocked up the chimney in his parents' home until all of the property could be divided and the home put on the market. He did not know that he had blocked off the only entrance/exit for the raccoon.

Blocking off the entrance forced her to wander into other parts of the home. Within three days, the raccoon completely destroyed the house. She was so desperate to leave to find food for her babies that she ripped all of the window coverings to shreds. She tore at the carpet and chewed it to bits trying to exit through the floors. In the raccoon's stressed out condition, she relieved herself all over the house and apparently drank from the toilet. She somehow turned the water on in the bathroom sink that flooded the entire bathroom, down the stairs, and into the basement.

When the family returned to the home, it was in shambles. Two of the brothers tried to trap the raccoon themselves to no avail and the home was even more damaged.

When they contacted me about the situation, I told them to stop trying to take care of the raccoon problem themselves and to hire a professional. I referred them to www.AllstateAnimalControl.com. I worked with these professional animal control technicians before and know that they are extremely competent.

My clients finally called them and they came out quickly and successfully trapped the raccoon and her babies.
