Skunks are stinking up Kamas, Utah

Residents have plenty of complaints about the skunks in Kamas, Utah.

I had an encounter with a skunk a couple of nights ago. The dog found the skunk at an outside corner of the house. When I looked at the place where the dog found the skunk there was a dug out area that goes under the slab of the house. I am concerned that the skunk is creating a den down there. There haven’t been sounds of babies and there is no smell of death, o notice of flies, etc. I have not tried to deal with the animal. When we encountered it, the dog ran in one direction and the skunk ran after me in the opposite direction. When the tail raised, I ran inside and it missed me. There is no damage that I can tell. I am afraid to let my dog in the back yard for fear of another encounter. Should I just fill the hole in the evening? -Kort A.

We know we have a skunk due to the smell.  I cannot attach a picture of the smell, but believe me, we have a skunk under our home.  This is not our first time with this problem.  We have had multiple skunks removed in the past. We are experienced with this problem and are asking for help!!  It has sprayed multiple times all night long and we are exhausted with little sleep.                -Lindsey E

I discovered a skunk entering an opening under the back deck of my house over the weekend. Last night, it sprayed something on the deck, the smell is horrid. It is probably best to remove it and any others from the deck before more damage occurs.. There are at least two spots along the edge of the deck where they have dug to get under the decking.       -Jared L.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Kamas and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Rodent Problems in Kamas, Utah

Both residents and their properties are suffering from rodent problems in Kamas, Utah.

We moved into our house in September 2013 and have had voles digging in both our front and back yards the whole time. We have 3 dogs who spend a lot of time in the backyard. One of our dogs is a terrier mix and is constantly digging trying to get at the voles. She has definitely had some contact with a vole a couple of times because her nose has gotten swollen. I\'m worried about diseases she could get from this contact. I would like to remove all of the voles. Can I request that they be relocated?            -Debbie M

Our garage has been infested by rats and we cleaned it up but apparently they are either still there or at least one has come into the house. There is a pretty bad smell in two rooms and we found feces today. I\'ve seen mice poop before and this is much bigger. The last time we heard sounds was this morning heard behind the washer and dryer. We were aware they infested the garage for 10 days or so, more than a week ago we cleaned it up thinking we got rid of it, but today we saw the feces. The source of the smell in the rooms that I thought it was a gas smell from the heater in the garage. I think it is an extreme problem as I have an 8 year old girl, and she actually got sick a few days ago.  I would like help as soon as possible please.         -Meagan D

We have had issues with minor lawn damage from voles off and on for about 5 years. We have been able to control the problem with sporadic help from lawn care services and homeowner maintenance but this winter’s long freeze has provided perfect cover for the voles to completely destroy our lawn! We need help now!     -Jacob M
