Raccoon Problems in Cottonwood Heights, Utah

The residents of Cottonwood Heights, Utah have been dealing with one raccoon problem after another.

I have a family of raccoons living in a hollow wood beam right by my front door entrance. I think they actually had babies because I hear strange little chattering noises coming from the bottom of the beam. I know they\'re raccoon’s because they hang out on the top of beam at night time when we have the porch light turned off. If we open the front door the adults will hiss at us. There isn\'t any damage as far as I can tell since it’s just a decorative hollow beam, but I\'m wondering if I need to worry about it? I have a Boxer dog that chases something at night when we sit outside in the back yard. My son also has a Chihuahua dog that keeps barking at the beam all night from the bedroom window that faces the beam. Will they eventually go away? I could cover the top of the beam but I\'m afraid if there\'s babies in the bottom they\'ll be trapped. Not sure if I should be worried about this?     -Liz P

Hello: I\'ve got raccoons. They came thru the cat door, jump up and over the washer and into the top of the laundry room that is open to the rest of the house. I thought I locked them out at dusk last night, but I guess I trapped them in. They are taking down my insulation and really don\'t care about the cat food. I\'ve taken away the food source, but this is only the beginning I fear!  -Cory W

About two days ago I noticed a noise that sounded like a bunch of puppies crying under the crawl space of my home. Along with some scratching noise. My husband looked under the crawl space with a flash light and sure enough we have raccoons. I am scared to death.  I need them removed ASAP! –Pauline L

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Cottonwood Heights and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Animal Problems in Cottonwood Heights, Utah

Homeowners in Cottonwood Heights, Utah are at the end of their wits with the animals that invade their homes.

We have had 4 bats in our house over the last 2 weeks (one at a time.) We have lived in our home for 20 years and have \"occasionally\" had a bat in the house. Probably 4 times over the last 20 years. We assumed they were flying in our back door when we let the dogs in and out as we have an outside light over the stoop that usually has lots of bugs for the eating! However, after the 3rd bat 3 nights ago, we stopped using our back door before dusk and only use our front porch door where there are no bugs. Last night as we were sitting watching TV with company at our house, a bat swooped through our living room AGAIN. My husband was able to catch it with a large net but I\'m on the verge of a nervous breakdown over this. I haven\'t slept in weeks, having nightmares and am so petrified of them. We do not see any guano anywhere and it’s always just one bat at a time. We don\'t see where they may be coming in other than the door. Please help!!! -Charity P

We have a huge problem, we have what we think is a mother skunk about to have babies, because of how huge it is under our house. Last night smelled the most awful skunk smell imaginable and ended up looking under house and seeing a huge skunk. We tore siding of the house and tried to scare it out the other side but were unsuccessful. How do we get her out and also how in the world do I get the smell off everything in my house??!!!! Clothes, curtains, and furniture, everything smells. Any suggestions please??!!  -Lucille B

I have a rodent problem. I\'ve already had traps set, all openings closed and have found several hot spots and corrected the problem. Now we have a horrible odor in the furnace area. I have had an exterminator out and he thinks that the odor is coming from inside the furnace. My personal opinion is that a rat died somewhere in the area of the furnace, not in it. I don\'t know whether to call a furnace repairmen or another exterminator. Please help.     -Jace D
